Chinsurah, Hooghly, West Bengal – 712101
The Academic Journal of Hooghly Mohsin College (AJHMC) is a peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary, and multilingual in-house publication, bearing the valid ISSN (0973-6212). The journal is dedicated to fostering rigorous academic research and advancing intellectual inquiry across a broad spectrum of disciplines, thereby providing a vibrant platform for scholars, researchers, and academicians to disseminate their work.
After a prolonged period of dormancy, AJHMC was formally revived in June 2025, marking a renewed institutional commitment to academic excellence, critical scholarship, and sustained intellectual engagement. This revival reflects the College’s enduring tradition of nurturing knowledge and contributing meaningfully to the academic community.
AJHMC invites original research articles, review essays, and scholarly contributions in the fields of Literature, Science, Economics, Commerce, Management, Humanities, and allied disciplines. The journal particularly encourages submissions that engage with contemporary issues, interdisciplinary perspectives, and emerging areas of research.
Each submission undergoes a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the highest standards of academic integrity and quality. For selected volumes, specific thrust areas are identified to facilitate focused, coherent, and thematically curated editions.
It is also a matter of considerable pride that the centenary issue (1937) of this historic institution (established in 1836) is preserved in the library of Merton College. The journal has recently received communication regarding its archival collection, a testament to the institution’s rich intellectual heritage and its long-standing contribution to higher education.
Through its renewed publication, AJHMC aspires to strengthen academic dialogue, encourage innovative research, and uphold the distinguished legacy of Hooghly Mohsin College in the years to come.
